Sam Ricketts insists Wrexham have done nothing yet despite moving to the top of the early National League standings with victory on Tuesday night at Maidenhead United.

A 2-0 win, secured thanks to goals from Mike Fondop and Jordan Maguire-Drew, saw the Dragons climb to the summit of the table, albeit on goal difference ahead of Gateshead and Sutton United.

Ricketts admitted it was nice to be at the top, but was adamant that it meant nothing at this stage of the campaign.

“None, to be honest,” said the manager when asked how much attention he pays to the table.

“One of the directors has just told me we are top.

“But we are four games in and we have got 42 to go. It is nice but it means nothing, we are still only in August.”
