Following hot on the heels of Dominic Roma’s appointment of Martin Foster as his Assistant Manager, the Gainsborough Trinity boss has made his first signing on the playing side, moving quickly to snap up the signature of a highly rated Rotherham youngster, Alex Wiles.

Wiles is a twenty year old central midfielder, who earned a two year pro-contract at his hometown club, Rotherham United, and has also spent a period on trial at Sheffield United. He is an ambitious youngster with ambitions to get back into the professional game.

Alex has spent the last year gaining valuable experience in the mens game, appearing for Buxton where he had first impressed in the reserves. Capable of scoring spectacular goals, Roma said this of his capture:

“I’m looking forward to working with Alex and seeing him develop – and I am sure supporters will enjoy watching his all action performances in the middle of the park.”
