Neal Ardley wants Mitch Rose to continue to be Notts County’s driving force from midfield, and says it will epitomise what he wants from his team this season.

Rose was sensational in the 1-1 draw against Wrexham last weekend as he collected the man of the match award for a fabulous performance.

Ardley was thrilled with what he witnessed from the ex-Grimsby player, particularly in the first half in which he was at the heart of some excellent moves.

And the Magpies boss is hoping Rose can continue to reproduce that level of performance because it reflects how he wants his team to play.

“If you look at Mitch he’s the only player who has gone Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday,” he said.

“He’s played every game and I thought in the last 15 minutes it started to show. But there were so many tired legs at that point, I could have brought more off.

“In the first half in particular his drive from midfield was excellent.”
