Tranmere Rovers boss Micky Mellon says he is happy with the transfer business he has been able to do before the deadline after bringing in Érico Sousa and Aaron Collins.
The deadline for player registrations in the National League is Thursday at 5:00pm and the manager explained that it’s been hard work to get the transfers over the line.
He told Tranmere Player HD: “We needed some wide players after losing Ben Tollitt, Jake Kirby and Jack Dunn, so we wanted some pace in wide areas and players to make an impact.
“To give some insight into how hard we’ve worked to bring players in, we’ve pretty much spoken to every football club from the Championship down and spoken to everyone it was possible to speak to in order to build up a list of targets who we thought fitted the profile of the type of players we wanted to bring in.
“And from there, you find they’re available or they’re not so your list gets shorter but we’re certainly pleased to get the two in that we have.
“Both Érico and Aaron are very pacey, and even if they don’t start, they can have an impact off the bench because they’re those type of players.”
Both players are registered and available for this Saturday’s home game against Braintree Town in the National League at Prenton Park, 3:00pm kick-off.
