Tranmere Rovers captain Steven Jennings says the players have been looking good and aiming to bounce back immediately after last weekend’s setback against Aldershot Town.

Rovers’ unbeaten start to the season was ended in Hampshire and captain Jennings is looking for the side to start another unbeaten run again.

He told Tranmere Player: “A defeat was always going to happen but now it’s about how we deal with that and bounce back.

“We’ve looked sharp in training and we’ve been put through our paces.

“Last season, we may have dwelt on a bad result and beat ourselves up about it. But that’s gone now and the sooner we forget about that the better.”

Tranmere play host to Lincoln City on Saturday at Prenton Park (3pm kick-off).

Saturday’s opposition lie one place and one point behind Rovers in third in the National League standings, and Jennings says that will bring the best out of Gary Brabin’s team.

He added: “The better the team that comes here, the better you will get out of us.”
