Midfielder Adam Dawson has today joined Tranmere Rovers on a contract that runs until the end of the 2017-18 season.
The 24-year-old had a loan spell at Prenton Park during last season where he made nine appearances in a Rovers shirt.
He began this season with fellow National League side Eastleigh, where he made 11 appearances and scored one goal.
Bury-born Dawson left his home-town club to join Liverpool aged 14 for a reported fee of £100,000 before signing his first professional contract with Wigan Athletic.
He then moved to Leicester City in 2013, from where he had a loan spell with Bristol Rovers at the end of the 2014-15 season, helping them to promotion into the Football League.
Tranmere manager Micky Mellon said: “I’m delighted to bring Adam to the Club.
“He is a very good player and someone who is already familiar with the place and a lot of the players from his time here last season.
“It’s important to have different options within the squad and Adam will bring a bit of balance to the squad and allow us to play different ways when we need to.”
Adam will wear shirt number 21 and is available to make his second debut in Saturday’s derby game fixture against Chester FC at Prenton Park.
