Runcorn Town have given an update over efforts to secure a new long-term ground lease.

The NWCFL Premier Division club have said as part of an overall behind-the-scenes progress report:

“Work has been progressing with securing a long-term lease on the ground. The lease document has been drawn up and is ready to be signed by all parties once planning permissions has been received for the housing development on the former Pavilions site.

“The latest update on this is that the Health & Safety Executive have called in the plans for review after Halton Borough Council initially gave it the go-ahead.¬†Once this process is completed, we will be able to start work on a new car park and entrance off Picow Farm Road.

“The long-term lease also allows us to apply for funding for projects we have in mind for improvements to the ground and facilities for use by the club and possibly by the local community and businesses.”
