Runcorn Town Manager Chris Herbert has strengthed his defence ahead of the trip to AFC Liverpool on Wednesday with left back Joe Heath signing for the club.
The 27-year old left back started his career at Manchester United before joining Nottingham Forest where he progressed into the First Team.
A loan spell at Lincoln City followed before he moved to League Two side Hereford United. In total he made over 60 appearances in the Football League.
Heath remained at Hereford as they dropped into the Conference before moving to fellow Conference side Chester FC. Injuries hampered him at the Deva Stadium and a spell at West Kirby followed, Heath scoring as they won the Cheshire Amateur Cup.
Now free of injury, Heath is looking to get his career back on track and Herbert was delighted to secure his signature, saying “Joe is an excellent signing for us. His experience is just what Macca and myself have been looking for.”
“He was very keen to come to Runcorn Town after I’d spoken to him. His attitude is right and is ready to get going. Joe was very close to signing back for Chester FC during pre season, but the move fell through for him.”
“You only have to look at his former clubs to see he has top pedigree. I’m sure Joe will only improve us”
