Leamington manager Paul Holleran has confirmed that defender James Mace suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the Brakes’ last game.

The National League North match, which ended in a 3-0 win for Guiseley, saw Mace sustain long-term injury. Boss Holleran said:

“James has had a scan which has unfortunately shown that he has ruptured his ACL.”

The former Hinckley United man has been a club stalwart over the past eight seasons, recently making his 400th appearance for the Brakes. With Mace unable to work while sidelined, a GoFundMe page has been set up: https://www.gofundme.com/f/james-mace-acl-reconstruction?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1
