Rushall Olympic moved amidst a goalkeeper crisis to secure the loan signing of 19-year-old custodian, Kieran Preston from Sky Bet League Two club, Bristol Rovers.

With Ryan Price unavailable and Dean Coleman still recovering from injury, Kieran came straight into the Pics’ side with an assured display in the 3-1 Evo-Stik Premier Division win at Whitby Town on Saturday.

A promising young goalkeeper, Kieran played for Derby County and Nottingham Forest as a youngster.

On his release from Forest at the age of 16, the Academy Manager at Bristol Rovers at the time, Tom Curtis, who had worked with Kieran at the City Ground, moved quickly to offer him a scholarship with Rovers.

Youth Team Player of the Season in 2013/14, he was allocated a squad number last season and was twice on the bench for the first team.

He has also gained international honours for Scotland, appearing in their U-19 side.

Kieran was awarded his first professional contract at Bristol Rovers in the summer of 2015 and continues to be a member of their first team squad.
