Russell Slade has been named as Hereford FC’s new manager.
The 58-year-old takes over at the National League North side after head coach Marc Richards’ recent departure. Slade spent over four years as Leyton Orient boss, taking the O’s to within a penalty shootout of the Championship in 2014.
He had a stint in charge at Cardiff City in the Championship before more recent spells at Charlton Athletic, Coventry City and Grimsby Town. Slade told Hereford’s official website:
“The ambition of the club met my ambition. I didn’t want to come here and be sitting around in mid-table.
“The minimum requirement will be the play-offs, that’s what we’re looking to achieve if we can get anything better than that then bring it on!
“I’m really looking forward to it.”
