Herne Bay and Ramsgate are hoping their fans will turn out in force for their rearranged Ryman South clash on Tuesday night to support the Kent Air Ambulance.

Originally played back on Saturday 19 March, the fixture at Winch’s Field was abandoned at half-time after a horror clash of heads between Ramsgate’s Nick Treadwell and Herne Bay’s Lee Browning.

Combative midfielder Treadwell, 26, was rushed to hospital in a road ambulance while Bay midfielder Browning, 28, was airlifted. Both suffered severe concussion but thankfully they are now on the mend after their CT scans came back clear.

As thank-you to the flying paramedics, Bay officials have designated the match a “pay what you want” fixture for supporters with all the proceeds going to the Kent Air Ambulance.

A spokesman said: “We wish both Nick and Lee a speedy recovery and hope as many fans as possible will attend the rearranged fixture and support the Air Ambulance charity.”
