St Albans City have completed the signing of former Tottenham and Hibernian defender Tom Gardiner who has signed an 18 month contract with the club.
The highly-rated central defender arrives from fellow National League South side Dartford having started every game for Tony Burman’s side this season. 21 year-old Gardiner was born in Hatfield and lived in St Albans where he attended Verulam School, he spent his youth football days playing for Harvesters as well as featuring in the district team before being snapped up by Tottenham at the age of 11.
He went on to enjoy the flourishing academy setup at White Hart Lane which culminated in signing a professional deal north of the border with Scottish Premier side Hibernian.
Tom spent two years at Easter Road ahead of returning to England for a spell at Cambridge City and then concluding at Dartford.
