Salford City have announced that midfielder/defender Jake Lawlor has agreed terms with the club.

Huddersfield-born Lawlor started his career in the Northern Premier League with Ossett Town and Harrogate RA.

He moved to Guiseley midway through the 2012-2013 season and his versatility soon proved a real asset for the Lions. Lawlor can operate in the heart of midfield or defence and at six-foot four certainly has the physical presence for both roles.

He was part of the Lions side that secured promotion to the National League 2015, scoring during the play-off win over AFC Fylde. After making 24 appearances for Guiseley last season, AFC Fylde took Lawlor on loan just before the transfer deadline.

The Coasters made the National League play-offs and Lawlor has now decided to make the move to Salford.
