FC United of Manchester wing-back Tom Walker has signed professional terms with Vanarama National League North League leaders Salford City.

Walker, 22, joined FC United in October 2017 and has made 13 appearances for the club. He started his career at Bolton Wanderers and made his first-team debut in January 2015.

He joined Bury on loan in August 2016, and was released from Bolton at the end of the 2016–17 season. He has since played for Stockport County before joining FC United.

Having previously been on a professional contract at Bolton Wanderers, Walker has naturally been keen to return to professional football. Damian Chadwick, CEO at FC United said “Although it is a huge blow to lose such a talented young player, we do not want to stand in the way of any player wanting to make a full time living in football.”
