Luke Hopper could now be set to join Southern League Division One West club Salisbury.

GloucestershireLive reported on Thursday that the former Gloucester City striker was on his way to Hereford, but the move appears to be off. Steve Claridge’s Whites, currently second in the table and well positioned for automatic to the Premier Division, are now favourites to land his signature following his departure from Hungerford Town.

Hopper was one of the star performers in National League North last season, scoring 20 goals before leaving to rejoin Hungerford ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

The 28-year-old has also previously been with Chippenham Town and Swindon Supermarine and was on the books of Swindon Town as a youngster.
