Danny Cowley has backed Danny Scopes to succeed as Concord Rangers boss.
Scopes was appointed as the National League South club’s manager in the summer and the Beach Boys have made an impressive start to the campaign.
Cowley, a former FitzWimarc School teacher, and Scopes were in joint charge at the Aspect Arena between 2007 and 2012.
And the current Lincoln City chief admits he, along with brother Nicky, still keeps a keen eye on Concord’s results.
Cowley, who led the Beach Boys from the Essex Senior League to the National League South during a trophy-laden spell at the helm, said: “Danny and I speak a lot and I know Nicky and him worked on some restarts together in the summer.
“We owe him an awful lot and without him we definitely wouldn’t be where we are now.
“Danny is exactly what Concord need and he understands the DNA of the club.”
