Boston United manager Craig Elliott hailed the ‘scruffy’ nature of Easter Monday’s 2-1 win over Ashton United which signed off the Pilgrims’ home campaign on a victorious note, Lincolnshire Live report.
Elliott’s side were 2-1 victors over Ashton United, a result which relegated the Robins in the process.
First half goals from Tom Clare and Ryan Cresswell sealed the deal for the Pilgrims, who recorded only an eighth home win of the campaign.
“It was our big aim to win the game and although it was a bit scruffy in the second half, I do not really care,” reflected Elliott.
“Winning the game of football was important and we did that.
“I thought we played all right in the first half. We got into some good positions and I thought we defended really well. I thought both Cresswell and Qualter were good.”
