Scarborough Athletic have announced that full match commentary will be available at home and away games following an exciting link up with Yorkshire Coast Radio.

The partnership will see Boro games throughout the 2016/17 season broadcast on the Yorkshire Coast Radio website and app, starting with the match against Bamber Bridge at SCARBOROUGHQueensgate this Saturday.

Fans unable to attend games will be able to tune in to hear Communications Officer Will Baines describe the action together with a number of guests live from the ground as Athletic start the new league season in the Evo-Stik First Division North.

He said: “The opportunity for supporters to listen to commentary and analysis live from Boro games takes our match day coverage to the next level. We are thrilled to be working with Yorkshire Coast Radio to provide this service to fans unable to attend matches during the season.”

Yorkshire Coast Radio will also be supporting the junior teams at the club as the overarching sponsor of the Scarborough Athletic youth setup during 2016/17. The radio station will also feature on the back of the playing shirts for the Under-15 side.

Commercial Director Nick Finch said: “We are very pleased to be working with Yorkshire Coast Radio to support our junior sides.

“With the return back to Scarborough planned for the 2017/18 season, the next generation will be crucial to the future of the club moving forward at Weaponness.”

Chris Sigsworth, Managing Director of Yorkshire Coast Radio said: “I am delighted that Yorkshire Coast Radio is able to support the Scarborough Athletic juniors and give them the opportunity to play and develop their skills.

Exciting times are ahead for Scarborough Athletic, and we are proud to have agreed a partnership to both support the juniors and provide fans of the Club with match commentary.”
