Colwyn Bay will have new loan signing Danny Byrnes from Oldham Athletic available for Saturday’s tough game away to League leaders Bamber Bridge after his international clearance finally came through on Friday.

The two clubs completed their paperwork on Byrnes last Monday, but once again there has been a frustratingly long delay for clearance to come through, before the Bet Sky League One club themselves got in touch the FA of Wales today to get it pushed through.

The 19-year-old winger, who was a member of the Wales squad which competed in the elite round of the European U17 Championships in Russia in 2014, has recently signed a second 12 month contract for Oldham after being a key player in their youth team.

With Danny Andrews still suspended, Bay boss Paul Moore hopes Byrnes, who is initially on a one month’s loan, will increase his side’s attacking threat.

Moore has also been in talks with a couple of other players this week in a bid to bolster his depleted squad, but reports “we are still negotiating”.
