Notts County attacking star Callum Roberts is set to miss the rest of the current campaign.
The 24-year-old wideman had to go off in last weekend’s game with Hartlepool United due to an ongoing hip flexor problem.
Magpies boss Ian Burchnall has now confirmed that the former Blyth Spartans star will miss the rest of the season.
Speaking today about the ex-Newcastle United youngster, he explained to the club’s website:
“We’re going to have to use this time to rehab him to ensure we don’t get this recurring issue next season.
“We’re disappointed, but at the same time, we’ve got to have a longer-term approach. The scan shows he needs to rest and get treatment until pre-season.
“We’re all in agreement that there are no short-term solutions, so we’ve got to work hard to get it right for next season.”
