Selby Town have made a U-turn over the decision to sign striker Reece Thompson.

The former North Ferriby United, York City, Guiseley and Boston United player has been with the club recently, having been released from prison earlier this year.

Due to the nature of Thompson’s initial conviction, many have expressed their opposition to the club signing the 26-year-old.

The club have today said: “Further to our previous statement, we have listened to all of the comments and Reece Thompson will not be signing for Selby Town Football Club.”
