Sheffield FC youngster Alfie Eagle has really caught the eye of the big boys already, as the 16-year-old starts a two-week trial with Rotherham United, having impressed the local Championship side in a recent pre-season friendly.

Eagle is one year into a two-year football and education scholarship on the Sheffield FC / Maltby Academy Trust programme, and made his first start for the World’s First just two weeks ago, getting rave reviews for his performance against Penistone Church.

He followed that up with another solid display against a very strong Millers side last week, impressing once again at the left-back position.

The youngster is one of many coming through the club’s development programme getting a chance to play first team football, and the club’s U19s have a number of talented players all looking to develop through the system.
