According to the Matlock Mercury, Sheffield United have asked to take Ashton Hall on a week’s trial after the defender’s recent spell at Leeds.
Leeds recently spent a fortnight running the rule over Hall, the Matlock Town youngster they are said to have pursued for several months (Derbyshire Times).
But the Matlock Mercury states the player is still awaiting further news from Elland Road.
And Leeds’ hesitance could spell fresh opportunity for Sheffield United, whose academy Hall is said to have represented before his move to Matlock (Derbyshire Times).
