Chesterfield exited the FA Cup at the hands of Wrexham on Tuesday night, however, when speaking after the replay, John Sheridan explained that he was pleased with how his side performed on the night.
“I thought the performance was very good, especially in the second half,” he said to Spireites Digital.
“I thought it was the best we have played in a long, long time. Even in the first half, I was comfortable in the way we dealt with them.
“With the goal, a couple of people have made the wrong decisions and it’s ended up costing us. I must say the way we came out in the second half, I think we should have won the game in the end.
“I can’t fault the performance. I was very pleased with the way we played, it’s just a shame we’re not in the next round.”
