EBAC Northern League champions Shildon have confirmed that manager Daniel Moore has signed a three year contract with the club.
Moore replaced former Railwaymen manager Gary Forrest in January and has since brought in former Hartlepool United star Michael Barron as his assistant.
The former FA Vase winner was captain of the club when they won their first Northern League title for over seventy years last season and also led them to a League Cup Final win over Marske United.
The deal was confirmed in a statement released by chairman David Dent.
It said “There’s been a lot of changes at Shildon recently. We have a new Management team and in the appointment of Dan Moore, assisted by Mickey Barron, we have one of the most talented young Managers in the Northern League.
“I am delighted to confirm that Dan has just signed a 3 year contract which gives him some security and the Club some continuity as we take up the challenge to prove the doubters wrong and build a squad which will challenge for honours at whatever level we compete at over the next 3 years and beyond”
Dent also confirmed that they plan to give Moore a “competitive budget” next season, as he urged the local community to get behind the club.
“The Board has a challenge to give Dan a competitive budget and as an entire Club we are up for this.
” A major sponsor has been retained for the next 3 years and Platinum club members are being secured. We also are looking to strengthen our Board with the appointment of a local businessman. We of course need the support of the town in coming through the gates and this coming season is no different. We are on a journey here and I would ask the local community to get behind us”
Since taking over at Dean Street Moore has won six of his eleven games in charge and the club currently sit in third position in the Northern League table, nineteen points behind leaders North Shields.
