EBAC Northern League champions Shildon have announced that young star Lewis Wing has signed a pre-contract agreement with Premier League club Middlesbrough.
Wing is the Railwaymen’s top scorer, having scored thirty one goals so far this campaign.
His impressive form captured the attention of a number of professional clubs, with Middlesbrough winning the race for his signature.
The Boro will face Shildon in a pre-season friendly as part of the deal.
Wing joined the Railwaymen at the start of the 2015/16 season from league rivals Seaham Red Star and the helped Shildon to their first Northern League title in over seventy years in his first season at Dean Street.
He was also named runner up in the league’s Young Player of the Year award.
As part of the deal Wing will stay with Shildon for the remainder of the current season.
