Vanarama National League club Aldershot Town have signed midfielder John Goddard on loan from League Two side Stevenage on a deal for the rest of the season.

Goddard joined Boro in January 2018 a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder joined Swindon Town in May 2016 from Woking and made 55 appearances, 42 of which were in League One.

The ex-England C international has spent the first half of this season on loan at National League rivals Bromley.

He began his career at Reading as a youngster before he joined Hayes & Yeading United, then of the Conference South.

He then joined Woking where he stayed for three years before his impressive performances earned him a move to Swindon.

He made 65 appearances for the Robins, scoring 5 times before he joined Stevenage.
