Shrewsbury Town have confirmed the signing of midfielder Brad Walker from League Two club Crewe Alexandra.

Walker had been on loan at Wrexham from Crewe since 30th August 2018, with the loan expiring on Saturday after the game against Dover Athletic at the Racecourse. On completing his move to Shrewsbury, who are currently 16th in League One, he has been loaned back to Wrexham for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.

The club have re-submitted the necessary paperwork and applied for international clearance with a view to him being available for the next Vanarama National League game against AFC Fylde on 19th January 2019.

During the negotiations between all parties, Walker made his intentions clear that any permanent move would include a loan back to Wrexham for the rest of the 2018-19 season.

He said: “I really wanted to stay at Wrexham for the rest of the season and finish the job.

“We are in a fantastic position and I have really enjoyed my time at the club. I have signed for Shrewsbury now but nothing has changed in terms of my commitment and ambitions towards Wrexham’s promotion campaign.”
