Last week it emerged that Hereford had signed goalkeeping coach Rhys Evans as a player, but manager Peter Beadle says it’s just a precaution.
Evans had been registered as a player for Hereford during the 2015/16 season but never started between the sticks. Then in October he was snapped up by Southern League West side Wimborne for cover, and there was reportedly interest from higher-division Weymouth.
Beadle told Bulls News: “Having two keepers here you never know. Rhys will still do what he’s doing [coaching], and we hope that he won’t be needed.
“But obviously it’s an extra keeper because last year we had Max [Harris] as well. The year before we signed Rhys, just to put him on a form just in case.”
