Manager John Askey has expressed his delight in adding two new faces to his Macclesfield Town squad.
The Silkmen boss completed moves for Connor Jennings and Luke Summerfield earlier this week and John is happy with his business.
Jennings had a successful spell at Macclesfield last time where he came fairly prolific for the Silkmen. Now 25-years old the gaffer is hoping that Connor can replicate his old form this time round.
“Connor is a local lad and did well the last time he was here.
“Every time I have seen him play he’s done well for Wrexham and Tranmere so hopefully he can replicate the form that he showed last time.”
29-year old Luke Summerfield has also joined up with the squad on-loan from Grimsby Town as John hopes that his experience can fit well inside the team.
“Luke brings a lot of experience. He’s played in the league throughout his career so hopefully he can bring us some quality. He should fit in well with the way we play.”
Despite having a successful few weeks of transfers, the gaffer would like to bring in a few more players but admits that it could be difficult.
“We still would like to bring in one or two in but we can’t at the moment. Ideally I’d like to cover every option because we have a great chance with the FA Trophy and the league. It’s an important time for us and we want to give it a good shot.”
