John Askey has highlighted the importance of Macclesfield Town’s upcoming games if they are to make it into the play-offs.

Macc travel to Aldershot and Gateshead before hosting Dover a week on Saturday and points from those games would see the Silkmen climb up the table.

John said: “The game that are coming up are important because become Christmas and new year we want to be close to the play-offs.

“Luckily most of the results went for us last week so if we get a result on Saturday then I think we go level on points with Aldershot so we are still in there,” Askey told mtfc.co.uk.

Despite the club’s recent results Askey believes that his side can still beat anyone on their day after the performance against Forest Green Rovers last week.

“The fixtures that we have lost we have been very much in the games, even on Saturday it was a close game against the team who are top of the league so whoever we play I know we have a chance of winning the game,” he added.
