After Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Lincoln City, John Askey insisted that the Silkmen have plenty of positives to take in their next game at Boreham Wood.

Following the spirited display which saw his side come from a goal down to claim a point at Moss Rose, the manager seemed to be pleased with his side’s display.

The boss told mtfc.co.uk: “I thought we did quite well throughout, the second half was a little bit better. We probably created more chances on Saturday than we have in previous games, which was pleasing to see.”

He went onto say: “You could see the confidence coming back in the second half, especially after we had scored. I think they made half a dozen blocks so its moving in the right direction and hopefully that will spur us on.”
