John Askey is still hoping that Macclesfield Town put in a performance against Sutton United despite knowing that they will finish in 9th spot.

Macc’s 2-2 draw away at Dover means that they can still finish level on points with Gateshead who are one place above them but The Tynesiders have a much more superior goal difference.

As well as a good performance, Askey is hoping that his players will come through the game at the Moss injury free.

Speaking to mtfc.co.uk, he said: “We want to put in a decent performance at home and hopefully everyone will come through it unscathed so everyone is available for the Wembley final.

“Every game that we play we want to win and I’m sure that with the characters we have within the squad that’s’ what they’ll do on Saturday.

“Hopefully we’ll get the win and everyone will be available for the final so that the hardest job is on who to pick in the squad.”
