Macclesfield Town have brought in Matty Templeton on loan from League One side Barnsley until the end of the season.

Templeton signed a third-year scholarship with the Tykes in the summer of 2015.

Templeton, who hails from Worksop, spent a successful two-year scholarship with the club’s Academy and impressed for both the under-18s and under-21s.

Boasting a great engine, good pace and left foot, Templeton can operate as an attacking left-back or as an out-and-out winger.

He enjoyed a great cameo in pre-season for the first-team at Guiseley AFC before his proud moment of a career debut came in the Capital One Cup at Scunthorpe United.

Templeton then made his Oakwell debut against Blackpool as a late substitute on December 28th 2015, and made it one to remember as he drilled home a match-clinching strike from 20 yards in stoppage time.
