Macclesfield Town have announced that defender David Fitzpatrick has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

Club chairman Mark Blower confirmed last week that Fitzpatrick had agreed a contract and today the 27-year-old signed his new deal.

Fitzpatrick has been a regular in the Macclesfield side since his arrival at the Moss Rose in September 2015.

To date he has made seventy-four National League appearances for John Askey’s side and played a key role in the run to the Buildbase FA Trophy Final last season.

Fitzpatrick, who had previously played with Southport, impressed on the day at Wembley and he will now look to continue to impress in the new-look Silkmen side that will start the forthcoming season.
