Macclesfield Town have offered their best wishes to Robert Stirling who has left his role as General Manager to pursue a career away from football.

Stirling, who will be returning back to the construction industry, leaves his full-time post at the Club after a long association with the Silkmen in a variety of roles.

Club Chairman Mark Blower says he will be sad to see Robert go after his excellent work for the Silkmen.

Mark told mtfc.co.uk: “We are all really sad to see Robert move on to pastures new but he was keen to move back in to his previous line of work on a full time basis.

“He has done a stellar job for us and helped improve the structure of the Football Club behind the scenes. He will certainly be missed, but his work has put us in a good position to move forward and I am hopeful that we will still see Robert around the Club.

“We have already started looking for a successor to fill the General Manager role and hope to make an appointment shortly.”
