Macclesfield Town have announced that Paul Lewis has joined League Two side Cambridge United.

Lewis makes the move after the Silkmen agreed an undisclosed transfer fee with the U`s.

Lewis’ move is just reward for an impressive season so far in the Macclesfield midfield.

He has made twenty-one starts for the club in all competitions so far this term, and has scored an impressive 7 goals for John Askey’s men.

Three of those goals came in the 4-2 win over Tranmere Rovers on New Year’s Day as Lewis inspired the Silkmen to a victory over a side who at the time were top of the table.

A graduate from the youth team, Lewis made his senior debut for the Silkmen way back in August 2013 aged 18 at Lincoln City and would go on to make twenty-two appearances for the side in his debut campaign.

Over the next few seasons he would go on to make 108 appearances for the Silkmen and score 17 goals.

Lewis will now look to continue that progress with Cambridge.
