Macclesfield Town midfielder Luke Summerfield has called upon himself and his teammates to get a result against Gateshead tonight as our fellow play-off contenders come to town.

Tonight’s visitors have been flying recently and have one of the best form records in Europe. They sit sixth in the National League as the Silkmen hope to dent their promotion push tonight.

Summerfield, who is currently on loan from Grimsby Town, has tipped Macclesfield Town to get a win this evening after an impressive performance against Tranmere Rovers at the weekend.

“The league is very important for us, that’s the bread and butter. “We go again against Gateshead and we can’t think about Tranmere on Saturday.

“It’s a massive game for us and we’re looking to win it.”

The 29-year old has impressed in the Macc shirt since joining in February and has told mtfc.co.uk that his side must not look beyond tonight’s game.

“We will see what happens after the result on Tuesday and go on from there.”
