Macclesfield Town have announced the loan signing of midfielder Danny Whitehead from Wigan Athletic.
The 23-year-old will be with the Silkmen until the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
Whitehead is, of course, no stranger to the Moss Rose after an impressive season with the club last year.
After a successful trial spell with the Silkmen, Whitehead joined Macclesfield at the start of the 2015/16 season and went on to make thirty-six National League appearances for the club, scoring 6 goals.
His performances in the first half of the campaign attracted interest from the Football League, with Wigan signing the midfielder in January before loaning Whitehead back to the Silkmen for the remainder of the season.
After returning to Wigan last summer, Whitehead made a loan move to League Two side Cheltenham Town where he made ten appearances before his loan deal ended at the start of this month.
Whitehead, who had spells with Stockport County, West Ham and Accrington Stanley before joining the Silkmen, will now look to pick up where he left off at the Moss Rose.
