Macclesfield Town captain Andy Halls is delighted with the progression his side has made this season and hopes the Silkmen can continue their good form into the new year.

The 24-year old says that the target for this season is promotion but knows they must take it step by step.

Speaking to mtfc.co.uk ahead of the game at Barrow, a match which Halls missed, Andy said: “We’ve started well and we’re where we want to be, right near the top. I think everyone has been working hard to get towards the end. With the start we have made I can’t see any reason to not carry this on into Christmas.

“The target for this season is promotion but you have to set yourself smaller targets to reach throughout the season; we’ve passed the quarter way and we’re right up there.

“We’ve now got to go on towards Christmas and be right up there again, and once you look at around the time, if you’re up there then I can’t see any reason why you wouldn’t be up there at the end of the season.”
