John Askey says that Macclesfield Town will look to add to their group over the coming weeks.

January has been a busy spell in the transfer market at the Moss with Jack Mackreth moving to Bury and Paul Lewis moving on to Cambridge.

Askey has managed to strengthen his squad with the arrivals of Anthony Dudley, Rhys Browne and Scott Flinders, but he says he still wants to bring in players to help out with the Play-Off push.

That said, Askey admits it won’t be an easy task. He told mtfc.co.uk: “We’re going to try but obviously finances will dictate that.”

One addition for Macclesfield in January was Grimsby loanee Browne who capped his Silkmen debut with a goal at Sudbury.

John was pleased with his impact of his new arrival adding: “I was pleased to see Rhys get his goal. He looked a little bit rusty because he hasn’t trained for a while but I was pleased with him, and the likes of Ollie Norburn, Dan Cowan and Omry Perel who all got a run out.”
