After making his debut as a second half-substitute in Wednesday’s defeat to Kendal Town, Skelmersdale United have welcomed Mike Roddy to the club. He arrives from fellow Evo-Stik North side Clitheroe.

The 29-year old midfielder began his career in the youth setup at Bolton Wanderers but went on to sign his first professional contract with Lincoln City.

He has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 levels and has also had spells at Guiseley, Anagenisi Deryneia (Cyprus), Witton Albion, Colwyn Bay and two stints at Northwich Victoria.
