Casper Sloth’s departure from Notts County this week came about after the former Leeds United midfielder was left out of the matchday squad.

Speaking in his post-match press conference after the 3-1 win over Altrincham last night, Ardley said: “We took everybody to travel to Dover for a number of reasons, because with Covid protocols, you can’t leave players behind to train with the youth team.

“We trained on the way down, so we thought we could keep the squad together for the team spirit and everyone joins in training.”
