Slough Town have announced the departure of centre-half Matt Day.

The club posted the following on their website about Day’s exit:

We wanted to update supporters with the news that we have taken the decision not to retain Matt Day for the coming season.

This was based on those players we felt were in front of him for a centre back position and that we felt we wouldn’t be able to give him regular football going forward.

Matt came in on loan at the end of last season at a crucial stage and made an important contribution to our promotion with his performances and experience around the dressing room. We thank him for his efforts in a Slough shirt and wish him all the very best for the future.

In other news Warren Harris has now returned from holiday and will train tomorrow and then take his place in the squad on Saturday at Staines along with Guy Hollis and Simon Dunn who were both unavailable last night.
