One of the most headline-grabbing comebacks you are ever likely to see took place in the Evo-Stik League South Premier on Tuesday night.
Slough Town fell 4-0 down at Merthyr Town – and managed to win 5-4 in stoppage time. The Rebels sit 2nd in the division after the victory in South Wales against a 9th-placed Merthyr side who incredibly led by four goals after just 18 minutes.
A long-ranger from Nathan Smart got the ball rolling in the second half at 4-1, before Chris Flood and Warren Harris had the home side rocking at 4-3. A James Dobson header levelled it on 89 minutes, but the drama wasn’t over.
Dobson struck again with a deflected attempt deep into added time to complete a barely-believable turnaround for the Rebels.
