Bromley’s poor start to the National League campaign continued as they were smashed 5-0 at Solihull Moors, report the South London Press & Mercury.

Neil Smith’s side were trailing 4-0 at half-time and the game was effectively over inside the opening 20 minutes with Alex Gudger, Darren Carter and Jermaine Hylton on target.

Danny Wright netted in the 45th minute with Jamey Osborne wrapping up a comfortable victory for the hosts.

Smith said: “That’s the worst since I’ve been at the club. I’m embarrassed and I apologise to the supporters, who have made a fantastic effort to get up here – for that first half.

“We huffed and puffed in the second half and showed a little bit of guile but it was all done by then. To start like we did, gifting them the first goal. I know Jack has held his hand up, but the second and third are poor defending.

“That’s not a Bromley side I’d be putting out and be proud of. As a group of men we have got to come back and make sure that never happens again.”
