Goalkeeper Mark Smith has left Eastbourne Borough having signed a new full-time contract with Vanarama National League South rivals Billericay Town – a move which gives him an easier commute from home.
He joined The Sports on an initial month`s loan from National League side Aldershot Town in November 2017, which was later extended and then made permanent in January 2018.
Smith has previously been with Brentford and was a member of first-team squad on several occasions in 2015/16 but spent the majority of the season on loan with Lowestoft Town and in 25 appearances for Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Smith, who grew up as a Brentford fan, played a major role as The Beavers won the Ryman Premier Division championship.
He began his career at Queen’s Park Rangers and joined Brentford’s development squad in the summer of 2014, signing a professional contract a year later, he also enjoyed a loan spell with Hitchin Town.
He joined Aldershot in August 2016 and made 12 appearances.
