Following detailed and honest talks with the club, Richard Sneekes has stepped down as Manager at Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club Rushall Olympic.
A statement confirmed that the former Bolton Wanderers and West Brom midfielder feels that his increasing work and business commitments will not allow him to take the Pics into the 2016-17 Evo-Stik Premier Division season with the necessary time and focus that football management at Step 3 requires.
Over the past two seasons under the leadership of Sneekes, the Pics secured a 9th placed finish in the 2014-15 season, finishing the season with a flourish in securing the Team of the Month award for April and May and having a major personal impact on the career of many young and experienced players, such as Golden Boot winner, Aaron Williams, who has since moved back into professional football at Sky Bet League One club, Peterborough United.
The recently completed 2015-16 season has seen the Pics finish 10th in the Evo-Stik Premier Division, a position secured following a fine home victory in the final league game against champions elect, Darlington 1883.
The club also secured the Staffordshire Senior Cup in a 4-1 victory against Kidsgrove Athletic at Vale Park and also reached the final of the Walsall Senior Cup against Lichfield City, a final still without a confirmed conclusion after our opponent’s withdrawal.
