Torquay United have completed the signing of central defender Jakub Sokolik.
Sokolik, 24, joined the club in mid-February and made 5 appearances. His season was curtailed after a bout of sickness but that hasn’t stopped TUFC head coach Gary Owers from extending his stay at Plainmoor.
“I’m delighted that he has committed,” said Owers. “He’s a player of real quality that we’re fortunate to get. Unfortunately, he went down with a bout of sickness that is all cleared up now.”
Sokolik’s previous clubs include time in Liverpool’s youth system, and stays at Yeovil Town, Southend United, and Plymouth Argyle. Owers sees his signature as a real coup for TUFC.
“He should be playing in the League somewhere. He’s got real quality and he has enjoyed his time here which is why he has committed again. For the level, to have a player of that quality and that experience it’s going to be massive for us.”
